Evaluating Antimicrobial Efficacy in Biomaterials — Expert Interview #4

As we conclude our four-part expert interview series within the EU-funded NABIHEAL project, we turn our focus to the critical role of antimicrobial efficacy in advanced wound care.

In this final interview, we speak with María Luisa González Martín, group leader at CIBER-UEx (Universidad de Extremadura). Her team plays a key role in evaluating the effectiveness of newly developed biomaterials—testing their antimicrobial activity across in vitro models. Their work focuses on combating microorganisms commonly associated with skin infections, both in planktonic form and as biofilms.
